Was originally planning a run at McClennan park after work, was watching the weather to see what it was looking like at the end of the day. Around 5 pm the rain had stopped, but weather forecast was saying winds at 70 km/h and chance of thunderstorms. Decided to ride the trainer instead and do a lot of hill climbing during the ride. Turns out the thunderstorm rolled in about an hour after my ride, so I would have avoided it anyway.

From my house down along the trails to Chicopee some of the trail was flooded due to the river being quite high so I had to modify the route. On the way home did an extra loop through lackner woods to add some time.

Ran a clover leaf in the park that meant either climbing or descending a hill. Started the watch for 30 min and just kept running until time was up and then finished the current loop. Not as hard as I thought it would be.

Took 2 days off from my long run Saturday to let my back rest. Also been doing some new stretches for my hip. These two things combined my backs is feeling better then it has in a few months. So of course I pushed the weights back up to what I was doing in the fall for squats and dead lifts. We'll see how I'm doing in 2 days.

This was a much better trail exploration run. Ran from my house down to Victoria via the Walter Bean trail. Then crossed over the road and ran the Grand Valley trail up to Sawmill Rd. From there I ran the road to Bloomington and then did a nice loop in there, then ran the Grand Valley and Walter Bean back home. I probably only ended up with 8km of road the whole run, which is pretty impressive considering I ran from my house.

Headed out on the Grand River Trail with plans to run North and then head up to Glasglow road. I noticed on Google maps there was a trail there that seemed to go all the way to St. Jacob's. Got to the trail location and no trail existed, so ended up running road along Northfield until the I hit the bike trail back home.

Good long run, but too much road for me. I was moving pretty slow the last hour as my legs were hurting on the road.

Family play day up at Highlands Nordic. The whole family went for a ski this morning with me pulling Aubrey in the chariot. This was pretty hard work so logging this as a 4. We skied about 12 km, but so slow pulling 40 lbs behind you.

Headed out in the afternoon by myself with Kristen and Aubrey went tobogganing. Skied everything this afternoon, by the end I was pretty spent. Beautiful conditions and it worked out really well with Aubrey and Kristen coming up.

Note

A pretty good showing at the KW ARK Info night. It was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but we had to cancel it due to the weather. We still had 7-10 families come out including at least 2 that decided while they were there to sign up.

I also really liked Patrick's new introduction where he gives me all the credit for the KW ARK still being around. :)

XC Ski 1:35:00 [3]

Had to take advantage of the snow overnight so prepped my skies last night for an early morning start. I wanted to ski right out the front door and since I was out before 6 the plows hadn't been through the side streets yet so I could do this. I skied up the road to Breithupt park and then did 3 loops in the park. The first loop was pretty slow since I was setting the tracks, but after that it was better.

Great time out there playing in the park. By the third loop people had started to come out to walk their dogs and some of my tracks were getting ruined, so I decided this was the right time to head home and shovel the driveway.
