Down and back on the Grand River. This time I spent a bit of time getting my rudder working and also used the spray skirt that came with the kayak for the first time. I wanted to figure some of these things out before BPMR next weekend. Feeling pretty good about the kayaking. I'll be slow as molasses in the bathtub I'm paddling, but my biggest fear was that the first paddle would wreck me due to lack of practice and that now shouldn't happen.

Riding the trails down at Puslinch. Happy with the level of technical trail I was able to ride today. Should help with some of the more technical stuff next weekend.

Slept in a bit because there's no alarm in the basement so Aubrey joined me for the last 10 minutes of this. We worked on our push-ups, jump squats and pull-ups. All of which she said she could do because we do it during ARK. At which point she asked me when ARK started because she misses it.

Last week went so well that I headed out again today. Allowed myself to go a bit longer knowing now how long it takes to get back upstream. Already noticed that today felt easier than last week. The downstream paddles seemed to fly by and upstream it wasn't until the hour mark that I started to notice fatigue in my arms.
