Note

Ran around Green's Creek this morning, setting up controls for Lester B Pearson High School kids Outreach program. Still a bit of snow on the ground but that'll be gone by end of week.

Wore too many layers to run properly and didn't start my watch but worked up enough of a sweat. Looking forward to tonight's night-o.

Just this month alone Orienteering Ottawa has instructed 494 school-aged kids, Geography and Outdoor-ed teachers on the basics of the sport. It's been a very busy, very rewarding month. We have a few more bookings this season and then will be getting into snowshoe orienteering for the winter.

Orienteering warm up/down 5:05 [0] 0.77 km (6:34 / km)
shoes: New Balance Minimus - Trail

Warm up. Great idea to have a group warm-up pre-mass start!

Orienteering race (Pinecrest Night-O) 23:53 [0] 3.74 km (6:23 / km) +4m 6:21 / km
shoes: New Balance Minimus - Trail

Had a lot more fun than I thought I might. Not a huge fan of night-o but this was parkland and residential terrain, so no major trouble with light. However, my headlamp proved too bright against the map case, not bright enough for the terrain.
No difficulty with the course. Hesitated lots to #12 in the darkest spots.

Thanks Stefan!

Road Biking 55:17 [3] 21.47 km (2:35 / km) +35m 2:33 / km
shoes: Shimano WR83 Road SPD

Spent the weekend in Prince Edward County/Belleville. Today cycled with Celeste from Hillier, to brunch in Bloomfield, return. The ride TO brunch was much, much nicer...
Ate at a really nice place (Agrarian Bistro) right in town.
12 PM

Road Biking 1:22:09 [3] 24.23 km (3:23 / km) +100m 3:19 / km
shoes: Shimano WR83 Road SPD

Despite the hail and strong winds on the return to car, it was still a nice ride.

Also, Happy 30th Wedding Anniversary Bill and Glo! Bill, just because you're in SE Asia doesn't mean you can't update AP!

Running 43:59 [3] 7.62 km (5:46 / km) +33m 5:39 / km
shoes: Inov-8 F-Lite 195

Run from home, along the river and back on Woodroffe. Super windy along the water but frighteningly warm for November.
Need to do something about my sore hip.
