Orienteering (Course Setting) 7:00:00 [2] 10.0 km (1.4 kph)

Lovers Lane state long course. Marked out all the control sites and made a few control adjustments. Ran a couple of the course legs and found it will be technically challenging. I aproached a lot of the brown map features at slow pace to make sure I got it right. It will be interesting to see how it would look at pace. This will be our first map where brown features dominate. I think that all commers will be mentally and physically challenged

Cycling 36:35 [4] 16.2 km (26.6 kph)

Just could not get the legs to do anything this morning and nobody going fast enough to sit on their tail.

Cycling 39:00 [3] 17.7 km (27.2 kph)

Home via a function at Black Toms in West Perth, dressed in bike gear. Cruise home after a couple of drinks. Taking Juffys lead take mostly street options. Much more pleasant riding on the road except for the idiot that tried to pass me on a round about. Missjudged it dreadfully and almost mouted the roundabout.

Cycling (Commute) 34:05 [4] 15.0 km (26.4 kph)

Felt like a Monday with no ethusiasm, not helped by the extra cold morning. All I wanted was to sit on someones tail and take the easy way. Instead I was the one who gained the tail and it my mood could not shake them. So I took an alternate shorter route around Lake Monger and through West Leederville. The disadvantage is the steep climb up Kimberley Street.

Cycling 32:30 [4] 16.0 km (29.5 kph)

Not really with it to start with, untill I got passed near leederville. I think the guy got a bit of a shock when I picked up the pace an extra 5kph and held on. Lost him when I took the alternate route through Osborne Park and he went through the Hutton Street Trafic lights. Pushed hard from then on with plenty of new cyclists to pass on the way.

Cycling 34:20 [4] 16.2 km (28.3 kph)

Residual tireness from the week end, but pushed through it. Lots of new riders coming out of winter hibernation wobbling around the bike path, just something else to be wary of in addition to the terrible condition of the path. Then there was the idiot on Hutton street that cut infront of a semi. with not much to spare. Gives the rest of us cyclists a bad name.
5 PM

Cycling 31:45 [5] 16.0 km (30.2 kph)

Pushed to the limit of my breathing capacity particularly uphill. The legs felt good and could have done more but the lungs said no. Passed by a youngster and could only hold on for a short period at 40kmph and let him go. Later on after Karrinyup Road he was sitting on my tail. My avoidance of the Hutton Street intersection via Osbourne Park streets must have paid off. Finished with the best time for 6 months.
