Discover that the new phone does not ring the alarm if turned off (previous one did). Subsequently miss the start of the BBF group ride. So I head off to do my own thing, half an hour late with the aim of meeting the group at their normal coffee stop in North Beach. Find the ride challenging in all directions except west. All other directions the wind seemed to be against the rider. Heart rate seemed to be higher than normal - high ambient temperature possibly contributing.

To make up for the late start did an additional 30km to the north returning home via the polish pastry shop to collect cake for morning tea.

Another pleasant ride north up the coast followed by hard work heading east into the wind to end up in Joondalup to have coffee with the orienteering Friday bike riders. A wonderful piece of timarasu with an elegant coffee. Of couse while I was thinking I could get used to this, reality strikes with a number of work phone calls. All good with a new job starting Monday.

Enjoyed the ride west with the wind, down beach road, reaching 55kph after the freeway. However nothing left for the hill home.

Late morning start for a ride up the coast for a coffee and back. Shaking off the good Tasmanian food and good Tasmanian wine was hard work but neccessary. Usual good views of the coast

Borrowed the brother in law's old heavy mountain bike for a ride before lunch. Initially set off on a walking track along the cliff line south of the politically incorrect Blackmans Bay. This ride was cut short by a gang of tree loppers blocking the path, forcing me to the road. Lots of views of the river and Bruny Island but you only get those with plenty of climb. Half way round the Bitumen ran out and onto the gravel. The bike was slow but so was I after too much indulgence during the week

Garmin finally have got their act together to enable downloads onto my lap top.
