To and From the Navdash at Joondalup. The idea was to get warmed up for the run. It only helped marginally. Had to fight the sw'ly sea breeze on the way back. It has been a while. It seems that the last few weeks as been dominated by a constant easterly.

Nav dash Joondelup. It has been months since I did a run and unfortunately it shows. Walked some sections to get my breath back. Well set course on a very good map

Cycling 3:16:20 intensity: (2:00:00 @3) + (1:16:20 @4) 86.0 km (26.3 kph)

Working from home has too many distractions. So to clear the head and apease the soul I set out on a decent bike ride. Kept a comfortable pace down the coast to Freemantle. Unfortunately I had to mostly take the bike path due to the early morning rush hour. This means more intersections and uneven surfaces than the usual road route. Turn at Freemantle into the easterly nemesis. It certainly seemed harder work, however the heart rate monitor said I was cruising. All mental. Meet up with the retired Friday bike riding orienteering set for a coffee at the Fern Rd bridge. Pushed it harder on the way back (wind assisted) to raise the average speed.

Trigg -coast Mullaloo -home. Tough riding conditions with the bike pushed sideways at times with the cross wind. Even tougher riding back into the easterly.

Just did not feel like doing anything but rode out anyway into an unfriendly easterly. Short ride to trigg and Hillary's. Struggled home into the wind.

CTA 50k Challenge Ride.

Seems to be 1km short? Hard climb to start saw me drop behind the front pack of four and no one behind that I could see. Almost caught the front group after a section of gravel (road repairs) but a malfunction with the heart rate monitor (clip came adrift) ended any ambition to catch the group. Completed the rest of the ride on my own. Pleasant ride despite the easterly. Still not as strong as I should be up the hills. Feels like I am fighting a mild infection - will go to the doc for a checkup next week.
