run race (transrockies run) 5:36:20 [3] 33.2 km (10:08 / km) +1457m 8:18 / km

Day 6. Last day. Two big climbs today. Finally getting into the downhill groove and we had a relatively quick (for us) approx. 7km downhill into Avon before the final climb to Beaver Creek. We both felt (surprisingly) quite strong today. The final 3 km of the race was a speedy downhill into Beaver Creek. Our total time was 30 hours, 35 min and 33 seconds. What a great race the TransRockies Run is. Great fun, great food, great course and super well organized. I highly recommend it!

run race (transrockies run) 6:22:15 [3] 38.0 km (10:04 / km) +1368m 8:31 / km

Day 5. Our longest day time-wise. And the course was a bit longer than anticipated because of some re-routing because of construction on Vail Mountain. Another big view day, with some climb in beautiful meadows to the top of Vail ski resort. A very long, fairly steep downhill today. Finished right in Vail. I was tired today.

run race (transrockies run) 3:48:36 [3] 22.5 km (10:10 / km) +933m 8:25 / km

Day 4. A shorter day today but with big climb. My favourite view day today. A section of stunning ridge running. Definitely prefer the climbing to the descending.

Day 3 - not so much elevation today. Another beautiful day. We felt pretty strong today.

run race (transrockies run) 4:02:46 [3] 21.7 km (11:11 / km) +1102m 8:55 / km

Day 2 of the transrockies. A shorter day. Big climb and a big descent. We are doing much better on the climbs than on the downhills. Beautiful day. Amazing views from Hope Pass. Got over 12,500 feet today. No altitude problems for us.

run race (transrockies run) 5:03:25 [3] 33.1 km (9:10 / km) +923m 8:03 / km

I don't log my training in attackpoint, but my transrockies partner Andree. talked me into it for the 2010 TransRockies Run. Day One, we were tired after a tricky travel day from Ottawa including a 4:30am wake-up, a cancelled flight in Chicago and a 7 hour delay. Got to Buena Vista at 11pm Sat night to get ready for Sunday's morning start. Was the hotest day today. Beautiful course in super interesting terrain around Buena Vista. Would make for awesome orienteering. We were thankfully OK with the altitude. This was probably our weakest day as we were pretty tired going into it and it was hot!
