Orienteering (Long) 41:42 [3] **** 5.0 km (8:20 / km) +180m 7:04 / km
shoes: Inov-8 280

Sarum Sautner Hamptworth

Again felt ill but warmed up okay, just aimed not to mess up as much as yesterday and keep my head. Most controls were actually okay with only a few mistakes, woo. Route choice error on number 3 where I came past under the start oops, -1.5mins. Bit of a wobble on 4 where I went into the thicket in the wrong place and had to come back, same on 5 somewhat, toghether -1.5mins. Number 8 was a bit slow and I got confused with the white looking like open and I helped someone too :) -30secs. Number 9 was a bit of hesitation -5secs. I went past 12 going past the stream, -30secs. Too high on 11 -20secs. Too high on 14, -20secs.

Still mistakes but not as much as yesterday :) aim complete! hehe, came 3rd yay.

Note

Selected for interland, travelling reserve :) yay, the best place to be in my option, all the experience and holidayss, and not as much pressure wooo.. excited.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 280

Major long warm up, kind of tripped up alot trying to do high skips in the dark..
7 PM

Running 50:05 [4] 4.5 km (11:08 / km) +150m 9:32 / km
shoes: Inov-8 280

British Night Championships, Hamptworth

Felt pretty ill going into it and tried from driving for like 7 hours all day but anyway...

Started well, me and nick had the same number 1 so that was easy, it kind of went downhill and the lack of contours was so annoying and tiny southern features are so crap in the dark, number 2 I hit the aiming off stream right but when I went down I just didn't see it so I headed up the stream again thinking I had gone off, -2mins. Number 6 was okay but somewhat slow with my bad route choice -30secs. Number 7 took far too long as the depression was not particularly visible in the dark so I went to low -2mins. Number 10 I hit the first path did a 50degree error and went straight into masses of rhododendron bushes -2.5mins. Number 13 I found loads of unmapped rhododendrons and got really confused so had to go back and come in again -1.5min. Number 14 I took a stupid route trying to save time but I got caught in loads of thick undergrowth and was really slow up the hill -1min. Overall 9.5mins of bigish mistakes, quite a bit of hesitation etc.

Ar well the rest was okay, its just so different to night orienteering in the lakes, anyway still came 5th, which is alright really. Couldn't take my Garmin as it's a national guesstimate from everyone else's I did 4.5km

Queen Ball then Volleyball

Actually was the queen and we didn't lose... wow.

Running 5:00 [3]

WARM UP - running up the hill

Strength and Conditioning 8:00 [2]

Did some strength and conditioning and stretching on the top of the hill

Running 25:00 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 280

Intervals on Slate Fell in Cockermouth

Felt pretty good, it was really sunny and loverly running around on top of the hill :) Did mostly downhill intervals and then lapping it back to the start for 3 different places twice each ish. on the last I only did 1x because I was running out of time.

Then ran down 2.5km to Sainsburys to meet my mum shopping, which was really muddy on the track and then my fell shoes weren't very good for the roads but I couldn't really do anything about it.

Note

pretty happy with my start time :) I'm really glad they are so spread out, although I'm doing green on the Sunday which is really annoying as I wanted to do blue as that's what I do normally, on the upside I'll get home quicker...

P.E. 50:00 [2]

Basketball

Our teacher is so sexist, he sent us all outside because we 'weren't good enough' so just the boys were in the gym even though tbh i'm not amazing but some of the girls could have used it for their GCSE as well, pfft so we just messed around outside shooting hoops

Running warm up/down 5:00 [3]

Disgrace of a warm-up... oops

Orienteering (Long) 50:42 [4] 5.2 km (9:45 / km) +150m 8:31 / km
shoes: Walsh PB

WCOC Night Series - Buttermere

Ooo, on an exciting new area, which sounded pretty fun so did the long (meant to be 4.5km) tehe.

My race was okay, it was going pretty well until I became hesistant and made mistakes by not going far enough for at least 5 of the controls.. but the rest of the nav was good with no other errors :) Although my walsh laces are breaking so they kept coming undone so I fell over a couple of times mdr!

Running 2:00 [1]

Even more disgrace of a warm-down... why am I even putting this on..

Did a continues session round areas in Cockermouth as the weather is really wet and windy today.

Was pretty fun actually, my feet are somewhat sore but not as bad as normal for road running.

Reps (all hills) :

3x long - about 2 mins + rests back down 80% effort
recovery jog to next place
2x medium - about 1.5 mins + rests back down 85% effort
recovery jog to next place as I didn't do third as I'm a junior (yay)
2x long - about 2 mins + rests back 90% effort
recovery jog round bottom loop to next place
2x medium - about 1 min + rests back 95% effort
recovery long strides jogging and down to roundabout
2x sprints - 20 secs 100% effort
