Orienteering (Long) warm up/down 40:00 [3] 2.0 km (20:00 / km) +100m 16:00 / km
(sick) shoes: Walsh PB

Okey warm up but the area was crap to do anything in and people were going to the loo all over the place so I did'nt know where to look -_-

Long slog up the hill to the start so i'm putting it as a long warm up with a bit of the walk on it, even though I only did about 20 mins of exercises ect. at the start..
1 PM

Orienteering (Long) 51:47 [3] *** 5.2 km (9:58 / km) +200m 8:21 / km
12c (sick) shoes: Walsh PB

Horrible warm up to the start and a bad warm up area meant I wasn't to well prepared for my run.

I'm going to put it as ill as I was sick just as we arrived in the car park... I think the windy roads and hot car had it in for me :(

I managed to have a good clear race until No. 11 where as I knew I was doing well I lost my concentration level after going to high up and found a earthbank which didnt seem to be on the map which was pretty badly mapped overall tbh. So lost about 2 ish minutes on that one and a few vital seconds on number 7 through lack of a good clear route choice. So that pushed my places down a bit.

Although over the week including today I have been really happy with my races excluding Monday's and with a seventh today, then a 3rd, 2nd and 1st I was 4th overall which I'm so(ooo) pleased about even though some people wouldn't be. :) It seems my training has paided off and I am hopping for even better in france next weekishh.
3 PM

Note

It says I was 4th overall but tbh I think i was 5th as Katherine and me got the same but my last was a 45th as I mispunched and hers was a 12th....

Maybe they will change it, either way i'm happy

Orienteering (Long) race 1:02:12 [3] *** 5.0 km (12:26 / km) +130m 11:01 / km
shoes: Walsh PB

5th Day of the Scottish 6 Day.

Good race with some fast splits and the top 3 of us were really very close as we were all winning at some point.

My race was really good, the only mistake I made was on number 3 where I went down the wrong side of the hill because the green seemed to go on much farther than it should have done on the map.

Annoying how close I was off the winner (around 30 seconds) but being the first bottom year it felt good even though.

Orienteering (Long) warm up/down 20:00 [2] 1.0 km (20:00 / km) +50m 16:00 / km

Average warm up and down again.

Orienteering (Long) warm up/down 40:00 [2] 1.5 km (26:40 / km)
shoes: Walsh PB

Seriously long warm up after I arrived super early to the start. Average stuff.
11 AM

Orienteering (Long) race 1:10:48 [4] **** 5.7 km (12:25 / km) +205m 10:32 / km
shoes: Walsh PB

4th Day of the Scottish 6 Day

Had to wear my oldie walsh's which was pretty annoying so I was slower down the hills as they don't have much grip and are a bit lose on my narrow feet. Although I bought some new Inov-8 Oroc 280's which feel pretty good and are really lightweight and well-fitting.

Anyway, my race was good and I was in second place before I went wrong after being distracted when passing 2 other runners on my course on the way to No. 8. Which I went to low down to and then saw a parallel feature and got confused which I lose about 10 minutes on as I had to run up the hill after running down it.

Overall I was 12th, which was okay but it messed up my results for the week which hopefully I will be able to discard.

Note

Orienteering (Long) race 49:21 [3] *** 4.9 km (10:04 / km) +210m 8:18 / km
11c shoes: Inov8 Mudroc 290

3rd Day of the Scottish 6 Day

Talked to lots of people before the start and felt pretty prepared for my run. The weather was really hot though and I was scared I wouldn't be able to run as fast as I wanted too.

The sole of my shoe fell off on the way to no. 1 so I just pulled it and threw it away which slowed my down throughout the course but on a plus I can get some cool new shoes :)

Anyway it was basically all fine, nearly went past no. 2 had it not been for people being at it already. Caught Hannah Bradley and Miranda Leaf up at around No. 7 which was good as they were around 14 and 10 minutes ahead of me. Lost both after No. 9 ish and ran off into the wood (no looking back).

The only tiny mistake was probably No. 10 and 11 where I was a bit iffy about the route and because I knew I was having a good run I didn't was to mess it up at the end. Not as technically difficult as the previous courses which was good. Looking forward again to the next one although it is 5.7 km.

Ended up coming joint 2nd with Katherine Hall with Natalie Beadle in front by a good 2.50 mins. Recon I could have gone faster with a better pair of shoes but 2nd gives me 3 points discarding yesterday :) Tehe

Orienteering (Long) 1:05:00 [3] **** 4.2 km (15:29 / km) +200m 12:30 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudroc 290

2nd Day of the scottish six days.

Felt good and tried to forget about yesterday but also felt a bit of pressure from my good result which put me off a bit.

Had a okey warm up although the starting area was crap so I couldn't really do much in such a small place.

No. 1 wasn't to good and I set off to fast and ended up to far up on the wrong spur so had to run around a bit to try find it and Hannah caught me up by 4 mins as it took me 6 ish.

No. 2 was annoying as I followed the wrong marsh and ended up miles away from the right on, then had a bit of a wondering around thing going on and didn't use my compass enough so yeah it all went a bit wrong there.... took 22 mins as well :L

The rest were fine and I must have been going pretty fast as I caught Hannah up again and Becky Young who was 2 mins ahead of me at around no. 11.

However when I got to the finish thinking it was a crappy run and shite area anyway it turned out I had mis-punched at no. 6 and acually got one which was about 100m away and on the same feature.

DISGARD!

Orienteering (Long) warm up/down 20:00 [2] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)

Crappy warm up in a crap warm up area yay....

Should have ran to the start a bit more.

Orienteering (Long) race 45:34 [4] **** 4.5 km (10:08 / km) +220m 8:08 / km
shoes: Inov8 Mudroc 290

1st Day of the scottish six days :)

Did loads of preparation for the course and felt good arriving to the start with loads of time to spare so I could do a pretty long warm up and get a look at other competitors setting off ect.

Got into the race pretty fast and it was clear my training was paying of as I was running at a nice fast pace and hitting most of the controls straight on. Caught Becky Young up at about no. 7 and we ran the course toghether through to about no. 8ish where she was behind me after contouring round the hill. Lost her through the wood and began picking up the pace going into the last controls. No. 10 was a bit iffy but found it after being lead astray by some elephant tracks.

All in all, I had a really good race and won it by 17ish seconds to a beastly swedish girl in the top year, Sarah Hale.

I guess i've kind of been proving the selectors wrong and with that and the World Schools its just annoying I couldn't have done better at around Easter. Loads of people have said that Bada wasn't all that good and that I should have got on tour with my results from those races so that felt good, and beating the runners who went on tour on their first race back felt pretty good too and boosted my confidence.
