Road Bike (C&F Uphill Challange) 31:40 [5] 10.0 km (3:10 / km)

CAT & FIDDLE from the post box end of Lark Hall - challenge uphill ride - used cross trainer bike with clip in shoes - light wind - dry road and cool so perfect really no excuse! I was trying to beat 30mins but just not fast enough. Split times of interest: to first layby around 17m top of hill just after Stanley Arms 20mins...(Note: this needs to be sub 18m if on target for best time).

Case History so far:- My current best time 2009 was just over 29mins from the end of Cottage Lane. Andy did it on that occasion in just under 29mins. Ali's best time was recorded June 2011 from the end of Cottage Lane on his small road bike in 29m06s - Tom's record to date June 2011 from the post box on the Defy4 is 28m56s - Ali intends to have another crack at this now he realises Tom's record is from the post box (which I have explained to him 10.5 secs nearer to the C&F than the end of Cottage Lane!)
FUTURE TIMING RULES: From Lark Hall post box to when you cross the line into the C&F car park.

Road Bike (C&F Downhill Challenge) 16:52 [5] 10.0 km (1:41 / km)

CAT & FIDDLE back down to post box. I shouldn't have bothered with flappy cag and I could have gone for it harder in certain bits although one corner was taken a bit too quick. Time to Stanley Arms turn off was 9mins something. Conditions were good I feel I can beat this.

Run (GOYT short) 43:00 [3]

Figure of eight steady run from Goyt stile near honey pot - down valley to bridge across river towards zig zags but took new path to the left across the stream - path climbs contours and drops to the track which when you turn left leads to Errwood Hall ruins - keep right and return to the wooden bridge - then return to car at the stile. Sunny evening, good views and injury to left lower leg seemed ok. (Allow 11/4hours for round trip including the drive).
