First day on the Paleo diet and promptly bought a coca-cola after lunch. So, yeah, release the hounds.

At any rate, Hannah's been doing a lot of reading about it's many benefits [including auto-immune] and so it's worth a shot. She is getting immediate and dramatic benefits.

Besides, in the long list of dietary changes, I can push coffee to the back of the pile. With so many other changes, I'm not at all worried about it. It's pretty clear that I have been deeply hesitating limiting its consumption this time around.

1. coffee 1500 ml
2. 2 bowls of white rice [~4 cups]
3. a few peanuts [and chili peppers] in lunch
4. coke 600ml
5. 1 cup popcorn in peanut oil
6.. some kind of honey glaze on pre-prepared chicken legs

Another poor night of sleep. I'll timed beer [around 9pm] and a head full of concern over this Chemistry class means I am up late treading the internet. Strange as I seldom have had trouble getting to sleep in the last year or two.

Skin is in a bad way. I am chapped, dry, itchy and shedding badly. The spicy lunches no doubt are helping that along. As well as all of the above. I really feel out of balance.

Afternoon walk along the top of the Great Wall. Using some muscles to climb up and down the steep steps and inclines was nice. I was beginning to feel a little sluggish [physically and mentally] from not moving much these last few days.

Slept long but fitfully. Probably not even as many hours as I went to sleep worried about this class and the time that I have attend to it, with family and friends from out of town, scheduled meetings, tests to give, open classes....

Also, the pain in my groin has evolved recently when I increased workouts to include strength. It's looking like I might likely have given myself an inguinal hernia. Have to talk to David about getting an appointment at the hospital for a confirmation. ...and when am I going to do that???
