Orienteering race 1:40:00 [4] 10.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: INOV X-Talon 212

DBK-Mannschaft: The responsibility of dividing the controls was mine and it went very well. To win some thinking time I used the plan B and the other fetched a couple of controls before they came to second mandatory control.
At the finish I needed to wait for the others 20 minutes. I Should have given a couple of controls more to my self. At finish I was proud of our achievement, but it vanished quite soon as the both had forgotten one mandatory control.
The other missing control I could have prevented. As Vincent drew the line directly from the second mandatory control to his next control without visiting first the third mandatory control. I saw this, but didn't notice mistake.

Orienteering race 20:39 [5] 3.0 km (6:53 / km)

Sprint-race in Augustusburg: I remained concentrated through the race. The wrong route to the ninth control over the bridge and on the last two controls lost some seconds.
Legs felt good and decided to run a couple of passages with forefoot. This was a bad idea as after the race Achilles tendon was sore.
Learning: No forefoot running.

Orienteering 34:30 [4] 3.6 km (9:35 / km)

Sprint-OL: Often i felt like searching Easter eggs. I didn't understand the technical instructions. It was too much for my imagination that more than one level would be on the map. After standing a while helpless figuring how to get to the first control a lady came by and told me that there are the different stores drawn on the map. I got it after that immediately, but next big issue was the first control as I was searching a flag. I ran to the right place, but didn't see any flag. Wondering around and after being three times in the right place started to get confuced. They can't put a control in to the women's washing room. I decided to go up and tell that control has been stolen, but then I met Sophie and she told me that it is really there. After standing a while at the control finally managed to see that only a SI-station was taped on the wall.
The fifth control was the next big issue for me. I almost gave up after going twice around the tree at the corner. Then I decided to have one more try and check in the bushes.
Summary: Inside orienteering with a bit hidden stations, showed clearly my habit of running only to the control circle without paying enough attention to the details.

Orienteering race 1:42:51 [5] 11.5 km (8:57 / km)
shoes: INOV X-Talon 212

Jukola 2nd leg: First leg runner did a excellent run so I had a good start position. The beginning went quite well, but on the second gaffling a total disaster. I anticipated that there is going to be a tricky gaffling in the slope. Followed one fast guy downhill a bit too uncontrolled. 50 meters over my control slowed down and looked a while around me to see, if the ones before me had taken the control already. It looked like they hadn't with a big hesitation went down only 10 meters away from my control, but then I decided to run further. The mistake was bit more than 5 minutes.

Orienteering 53:04 [4] 6.8 km (7:48 / km)
shoes: INOV X-Talon 212

Very solid orienteering with only a couple of 10 second minor mistakes. I'm getting the needed confidence for Jukola, but it will be a night orienteering. By the way only two min to the current world champion in H35 Petteri Muukkonen.
