Orienteering race (urban) 47:23 [5] 9.54 km (4:58 / km) +95m 4:44 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Ascend 7

Holmebrook Valley, Course 2
ran the MV course - non-comp - as I wanted to get a decent fast-paced session, also test out some of the routes and visit the school for the first time, of course, my 'orienteering' was full flow, apart from having to wait for traffic, but erm I'm not totally sure I picked all the best routes, which is a compliment to the planner, I guess ';)

Tansley Loop
pleased with myself for getting out there, legs were complaining after walking up and down the slopes at Chinley yesterday, and I'd lost track of time, but it really wasn't too bad at all, I mean it was pretty easy

Mapping 3:20:00 [1] 5.0 km (40:00 / km) +350m 29:38 / km
shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 300

surveying the eastern slope at Chinley: steep, marshy in places

2 PM

running (terrain and trails) 46:34 [2] 7.0 km (6:39 / km) +220m 5:45 / km
shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 300

Chinley Churn
planned my nutrition - i.e. had my packed lunch before I started the surveying - so I could run after mapping, slow, and hilly, wilted in the heat of the sun

running 36:43 [3] 7.01 km (5:14 / km) +120m 4:49 / km

Oker Loop
still feeling tired so didn't risk a long haul, nice and steady around Oker, reasonably quick ascent

Note
(rest day)

Felt very sleepy after yesterday's run, which is how I used to feel after training - two years ago or more! As I'm probably a little faster now than I was back then, I could try to argue the sleepiness was a good thing, evidence that I'm challenging my body again. I don't know.

Anyway, the plan is to clock up the miles over the next four weeks, with a mixture of speeds and terrains, throw in an easier week, then sharpen up over July in preparation for the Six Days.
