Orienteering race 50:59 [5] 7.56 km (6:45 / km) +70m 6:27 / km
shoes: Jalas FLX

Boundary Wood, EM League, Blue
going to do more Blue courses this year, particularly on areas which aren't really big enough to stage a Brown, this means I'll have to run faster, got full value today: 51mins, without any serious misses, but a number of hestitations, mostly due to the dubious mapping of vegetation, and a bingo control

#1 hesitation, the control was hung too far down the slope [10]
#2 because of the position of the previous flag, went out to the track and back up the path, should probably have cut through the light green [10?]
#4 end of ride/open was further north than marked and had a large thicket at the end of it, before that a strip of white wasn't show, overshot [30]
#5 caught up in bramble [10]
#9 hesistation, missing open area light green did not appear as such [30]
#10 slow, trying to make sense of the map [10]
#12 missed left couldn't see the clearing - it was a slight widening of an unmarked ride [20]
#13 hesitation, pulled north to an unmarked clearing, but judged the real clearing would be further in (bingo) [40+]
#19 hesitation, puzzled by 'light green' which was quite runnable [15]

2nd, 96secs behind Paul Murgatroyd

Orienteering race 45:50 [5] 9.36 km (4:54 / km) +125m 4:35 / km
shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

Ashbourne Urban, MV
mass start, but probably ran the same pace as usual, stayed in touch with the faster runners because of their mistakes, lost touch on the long route choice leg up the hill, taking a different route, would probably have been left behind anyway

#1 thought the flag would be at the end of the thicket [5]
#6 leading pack didn't spot the gap in the fence exiting #5 [15]
#11 longer route [?] and on my own so lost pace [20+]

4th, 3mins behind Duncan Harris

shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190

Stanton Spirals
more of a deformed butterfly today, went down the low path, a bit muddy, had been planning to long one, but needed to get back to cook dinner, brisk

Note
(sick)

frustrating, didn't feel well enough to get out for a run in the sunshine
