Orienteering 2:06:00 [3] 12.7 km (9:55 / km)

NAOC Long. I was worried about the distance of this race, so I ran very conservatively until about the 2/3rd mark when I began to push a little harder. A couple of bad routes and some mistakes, but still quite good for me. It seems that I now consistently run a time of ~150% of the winner at A-meets. Like yesterday it was great to run on a very accurate map in relatively open forest.

Orienteering 1:01:00 [4] 6.2 km (9:50 / km)

NAOC Middle. What a pleasure to run on this map, even in the rain with foggy glasses. I really enjoy this type of terrain, and the contours seemed very accurate. My glasses became really foggy by the halfway mark, and I'll blame my big error at 13 on them.

Mineral Springs in Ancaster. What a beautiful area. I used the route choice course from the 2005 training camp, and added some butterfly loops in the contour rich regions of the map. I made some mistakes in the complex areas, but careful map reading made for effective relocating.

Intensity 4 for a short bit in the middle. Stitch in the side after 10 minutes. Knee feels fine, but this wasn't much of a test. Great running weather.

My legs are really tired today. Also, my right ITB and other tendons around my knee have been tender for the last day or so. I hope it is nothing significant.

Stars Challenge. Good race for me. I slowed down a lot after CP 12, but I felt strong before that. Big errors at 9 and 14, but I'm happy with my relocating. I need to bail out and relocate sooner. Wandering or following are rarely helpful.

Running 40:00 [2]

Running 30:00 [2]

I had planned a fun morning of cycling near Burlington, but I had to abandon the ride 5 minutes in when my tire burst. I didn't have a spare tire.
