I was laid off this morning. I wasn't that surprised. In fact, I'm sort of lucky to have lasted this long. I've seen a lot of highly qualified people leave in the last couple of months.

Not a bad day to be biking home at noon. Beautiful weather. Send me a note, if anyone is looking to hire someone with an engineering background in fluid mechanics and heat transfer. :)

Long run with Paul in Shorthills. A beautiful day. The run was a nice social run, a lot like last week's run with Jason.

I taped up both ankles and didn't have any problems except for some blistering on the back of my ankle from the tape. I need to find some exercises to prevent ankle injuries, and work on my taping technique.

Ankle is much better. It doesn't have the same range of motion and is still a little sore. I'm definitely going to do some running this weekend and see how it goes.

I've been soaking my foot in an ice bath a couple times a day, and the swelling is down, almost gone. It is sore to walk on, but it doesn't hurt at all when cycling. I wore a compression sleeve around my ankle while cycling, and I think that helped keep the swelling down. From what I've read my sprain is not that bad. Some people get significant bruising and internal bleeding! I think I'll cycle the rest of the week, and see how it feels on the weekend.

I felt great after yesterdays run, and headed out from my parent's house into Shorthills for another longish run. Unfortunately, I rolled my ankle very badly after ~40 minutes and limped home. It was swollen and very sore all weekend. I'm definitely going to need a break from running. This is very frustrating because my fitness seems quite good right now.

Fantastic run with Meridian from Kilbride to Crawford Lake and back. I had not run the Crawford Lake side trail before. It was quite nice.

Gators Spring Tune-up. Really sloppy running. Lots of little mistakes. I tweaked my ankle once, but not too bad.

Hanging streamers in Dryden Tract for an event scheduled for late-May. This is one of my favourite areas in southern ontario. Beautiful spring day, and the bugs aren't out, yet. Time discounted for standing around time.
