Great waves in Lake O today. Warm too. Laura and the boys got me an inflatable buoy that straps to your waist to increase your visibility. It is meant to prevent a jet ski or boat from running you over. Today was my first day trying it out. As I was swimming from shore a big wave ripped the buoy clean off the cord. At the end of the swim, a wave took my goggles. I recovered the buoy but the goggles are lost at sea - my unfortunate contribution to the 22 million lbs of plastic that end up in the great lakes every year. Crazy:

Trail fix relay with Laura, Kristen and Tim with the kids in tow. A lot more fun than I expected. An excellent team, and it was fun having the kids around. The race was very well organized. I haven't been running much in the last several months, and I wasn't too confident in my ability to hold out all day, but it went really well. I probably could have pushed hard in the earlier stages. We were expecting a more rugged trail, so it was not as punishing as it could have been.
