Cut this one short. I think I'm fighting a cold or something. No big symptoms, but feeling really run down and heart rate felt unreasonably high for the effort. I think I need a break.

Swimming 25:00 [2]

Lake turned over and it was cold, as it always seems to do around Canada Day. Once I started, I figured I'd shoot for 15 mins, but I settled in and decided to go longer. It is very hard to tell how cold I'm getting while swimming, but within minutes of getting out my teeth were chattering and I was struggling to unlock my bicycle. I'm not built for cold water, but it is fun.

Swimming 45:00 [2]

Phenomenal conditions in the lake. Absolute perfect water temps and crystal clear water. It could not get better.

Swimming 40:00 [2]

Phenomenal. Wish my fitness were better...Maybe it is a good thing because I may have risked a sun burn swimming longer at this time of day.

I got passed this morning like I was standing still. I know I'm not fast but that was a surprise. I rarely see more than 2-3 runners when I head out this early. I stood aside when I heard him approaching. This fella was out of sight in 20 s. ...Out of shape.

I saw a turkey vulture eating its breakfast, racoon, on king road. Impressive animals.

Headwind on the first 200 and tailwind on the 2nd 200 of the 400s. Much faster 400 times than usual. I think I slow too much on the 2nd 200 but the tailwind helped when I'm usually hurting. 200s were slower because they were all headwind. I took a lot more rest too, so maybe that is why I was faster.

Burlington beach is open again. Not sure what the story is there but they've removed sections of the 'wall'. No wetsuit today. Water was warmer than last week (when I bailed on a swim even with the wetsuit). I was shivering afterwards but not too bad.

Stopped for a work call after 3x400m, and everything afterwards felt fantastic despite being faster than usual. Maybe not a bad idea to make more rest between these?
