Hardrock. A really fun course, and the woods were beautiful. A great morning.

I lost my nerve on the walk/ride home last night. I was shocked at how fast some people were driving given the treacherous conditions. It made me wonder why I've been cycling beside these maniacs all winter. Anyways, I decided I'd run into work this morning instead of cycling. I'll take my chances on the bike when the road conditions are decent.

I over did it on the way home. Way too many detours. I did a loop in 'Hilborn Woods' a small, beautiful track of land on the edge of a suburban development. It was so nice in there that I decided to make a detour into Shade's Mills as well. It'll probably be my last snowy run of the season, and I enjoyed it.

I stumbled on 4 o'flags in shade's mills. Is someone putting on a beginner session there?

Calves and hamstrings are tight and sore.

Barely worth including as cycling, but it was scary enough trying to get through the icy snowy streets to get the HR up a bit. I may need to get studded tires next year.

I did the two most recent GHO training courses. Both courses were very helpful. I felt very rusty at Brant Hills and took a while before I got back into the swing of things. I'm glad I did that before the no-compass 'bullseye' course. I might have overdone it a bit this weekend, but the knee seems to be ok.

Knee feeling pretty good. I'm definitely on the mend. Time to stop reading books during the evenings and get back into running.

A nice rural ride around cambridge. I stopped at a cool little forest to check out a maple sap collection system. The grand valley trail goes through the forest, but is closed until April. The forest looked nice. I'll be back to check it out later in the year.

My knee felt fine after I warmed up. I feel confident I'll be back at it in another week or so.

I've done some google diagnosis, and if i had to guess I'd say I've strained my lateral collateral ligament, a name I hadn't heard of before today. I'm sore to the touch in the area where I think the ligament attaches. It doesn't seem too bad, but I'm going to wait a little longer before running again. Cycling causes no problems, so that is good.

A mispunch nightmare! We just finished checking all the downloaded si data, and about a third of the field mispunched. I knew there was a risk of some mispunchs with so many controls in such a small area, but I wasn't expecting this many. I have a list of things to improve for next time, but I am happy with the organizational side of things. All the controls were out by 9am. Laura managed the si system without any problems even though we had our first si training session yesterday.
The swelling is totally gone on my knee, but it seems that I have must have twisted my knee last week. I'm fine if I run in a straight line, but can feel the knee with any twist in the leg. I'm going to take another week off, and try not to worry about. Hopefully it'll take care of itself with a little break.

Test running tomorrow's course. Tweaked a couple of control locations because it was either too icy or totally flooded. It turned out not to be necessary because of all the snow overnight. My knee is bothering me. Painful with any slight twist.
