Swam with the boys on Monday. The lake had turned over, was very cold, and very clear again. Water was still clear today, and comfortably cool (not ice cream headache cold like Monday). Laura got me one of those bright orange swim balloons the police recommended to me, so I tried that out today. Not necessary this early in the AM but will be good for daytime swims with boat traffic.

Soupy algae - blahh! Water quality was decent several hundred meters from the beach, but the boat/jet ski traffic was just starting. Not worth it.

Swam Sunday with the boys in St Catharines. Fabulous water conditions down there.

I was stopped by the police boat, which is a first! The officer very nicely warned me that there had been complaints about jet skiers were coming too close to the beach, and besides I was far enough out that the jet skies were permitted at that distance. He suggested I get one of those swim buoys because I was not very visible.

I should know better than swimming late on a Sunday evening, but it was my chance for a bit of exercise so I waited until 8:30 pm when I figured the beach would be clearing out, which was true, but there were still plenty of jet skiers.

Morning swim. Nice conditions; cool water, warm air. I saw 10-20 other swimmers, and a dozen paddlers.
