Classy people go to Niagara on the Lake for the theater or a nice restaurant. Lucentes go to NOTL to bathe in the waters of the Niagara River as it joins Lake Ontario. John and I interrupted a young couple (honeymooners?) taking selfies in their Canada Goose jackets. We strutted down to the waters edge in our swim trunks. John got his legs wet and ran out screaming. I swam ten strokes and then rushed back to shore. The water was cold but the air was warm. As we were toweling off in the parking lot, a van pulled in and out popped Mr. and Mrs. Hansel who had been driving by. A welcome surprise! We couldn't convince them to join us for another dip, but maybe this was the beginning of the Burlington Ice Swimmers? Who's in?
