Running 50:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni 5

Went on a jog through St. John's. A bit of a disappointment, as I didn't go downtown, and then strayed away from Signal Hill and ended up in an industrial area, although even the industrial areas there are scenic.

Later, while killing time for my flight to leave, I went on a delightful little walk along the base of Signal Hill, and through some very narrow little streets and pathways. Crazy/Wonderful.

Hiking 1:00:00 [2] 5.0 km (12:00 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni 5

Climbed a little hill by the side of the road near Marystown. Low-lying alpine and bog-like vegetation covers jumbles of rock, making the footing tricky. Delightful scenery.

I actually don't know how long this hike was or how long it took.

Paddling 2:00:00 [1] 12.0 km (10:00 / km)

Paddled back to Chik from N/E Hawk Island. The winds were a little stronger, and the waves were a little bigger, but it wasn't too bad.

Paddling 2:00:00 [1] 12.0 km (10:00 / km)

A really calm morning on Georgian Bay, so we picked our way though the maze of islands from Chikanishing. I was planning on stopping at the Foxes, but we ended up paddling past them due to my poor navigation. By the time I noticed, we were already 1/3 of the way to North-east Hawk Island, which is more remote and appears to be much less visited than the Foxes, so I guess it worked out OK anyways. Later we did swimming and hiked around the island, including some great panorama views.

Swimming (open water) 10:00 [3] 0.4 km (25:00 / km)

Swam out to an island. I found distances really hard to judge in this area. Must be the lack of elevation.

Paddling 10:00 [1] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)

Didn't get to do anything yesterday, (car repairs and groceries), and then not much canoeing on this first day. A group of kayakers said the Bay was really crazy, so we stopped at the first available camp.

Tennis 1:15:00 [1]

Tennis. Really hot today, but good. Nice stretch of hot weather we've had lately, and no smog or humidity. The back of my right knee has been a little sore for the past 1.5 weeks.
