Note

Lunch time walk. Checked out the monorail the GTAA is building. Crazy, bloated, monstrously bureaucratic GTAA.

Running 37:45 [1] 5.2 km (7:16 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni 4

Conversational with k-t. Meh.

Strength/Weight 45:00 [4]

A little bit of everything, except arms. A fair bit of leg exercises, which I'm hesitant to do since my ITB problems. I tried to not push it.

Swimming 5:00 [1] 0.05 km (1:40:00 / km)
(injured)

Got in the pool for a swim, and felt the same old ankle problems almost immediately. I'm very concerned and a little demoralized about this.

Stretching 10:00 [1]

5 pre/5 post.

Note

I went for a walk at work today at lunch. I work in an suburban inustrial wasteland, but it seems like a good way to spend an hour. I think I'll try to do it more.

Stretching 15:00 [1]

10 pre run, five post. Legs feel good, but a little tired.

Running tempo 38:00 [4] 6.96 km (5:28 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni 4

The training plan I've adopted suggests running a 35 minute tempo run with only about 30% of the run at near race pace. This doesn't seem like very much to me.

Skiing (X-country) 3:30:00 [2] 25.0 km (8:24 / km)

Cross-country @ Dagmar.

Strength/Weight 15:00 [1]

Abs/Obs.

Running 36:00 [2] 5.2 km (6:55 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni 4

Conversational run with Kay-t. A little too slow for my liking but she should get faster--her first run in a while.

Hiking 2:00:00 [1] 8.0 km (15:00 / km)
shoes: Zamberlan Hiking Boots

A hike in Orono Crown Land area. A random rottweiler started following us as soon as we got there, and hung out with us for pretty much the entire hike. Crazy rottweiler.

Running 33:00 [3] 5.2 km (6:21 / km)
shoes: Saucony Omni 4

I'm working on a modified 10km training plan based on Hal Higdon's intermediate plan for the Lasalle Bank 10km....I'm extending the time frame a little bit from 8 weeks to 18 weeks. Anyways, this is what he calls a "run"...slow enough for conversation, but not as long as a long run. 33 minutes for 5.2km seems like it may have been too slow, though.

Stretching 15:00 [1]

I'm going to start tracking how much stretching I do. This seems to provide Mick with useful feedback. Anyways, about 10 minutes of pre stretch and 5 post. My left leg feels a little tight during pre stretching and a little during the run (ITB and ankle--two trouble spots for me).
