Went for a hike-jog thing along the Rouge through the Metro Zoo. This was an interesting place, and I was surprised to see that there was no discernable foot path for most of it..much of it was a fight. Lots of deer and some very interesting hoodoo-like erosion features. Interesting: The zoo has a very well-maintained fence for the entire length along its boundary here. Also interesting: I traveled underneath the monorail in two places. Also interesting: I traveled under two strange bridge/utility structures that had no clear purpose. Also interesting: I parked my car near the Finch Meander, where they were shooting a movie staring the girl from Little Miss Sunshine. Also: Saw a Muskox inside the zoo boundary. Also: Tons of butterflies that I assume have escaped from the Africa Pavilion. Finally: I saw a plant which looked like Giant Hogweed (the effects of which are literally terrifying) but which I hope is cow parsnip. I guess we will find out in two days or so.
