Note

ILRA green from JCP tomorrow at ~6:00 pm anyone? Tire testing.

Front is tubeless. It was harder to get it to inflate. It would have been made easier with an air compressor that could get above 20 psi, but today was not that day for my antiques roadshow behemoth.
4 PM

Running 34:13 intensity: (6 @0) + (18:30 @1) + (3:03 @2) + (11:24 @3) + (1:03 @4) + (7 @5) 2.03 mi (16:51 / mi) +51m 15:38 / mi
ahr:132 max:179 weight:221.4lbs shoes: Brooks Ghost Swagger

Tried the shorter side of the hill, which is much harder I think - no head of steam to momentum up, just dig dig dig. Also the footing is more uneven/o simulator.

Biking 1:03:31 intensity: (30 @0) + (1:00:14 @1) + (2:47 @2) 15.62 mi (14.8 mph) +11m
ahr:126 max:145 weight:222.4lbs shoes: Long Haul Trucker

Hines, it turns out, was closed, which made it a nice stress-free ride. The intersections on closed days seem quieter, even if I guy did run a red just as I got my green. The car next to me gave him a good honk. I think he was checking his phone and was going to rolling right red onto closed Hines and then just went straight with it.

Note: It was low 30s this morning, that's why it was cold.
5 PM

Biking 1:19:39 intensity: (3:26 @1) + (1:10:25 @2) + (3:57 @3) + (1:14 @4) + (37 @5) 15.7 mi (11.8 mph) +134m
ahr:146 max:192 shoes: Long Haul Trucker

Hines open, lots of cars. One bike caught up at a light and we remarked on the loud argument in the car in front of us.

More traffic than I wanted on Plymouth Road/Main Street, so I cut over one block too soon and lost five minutes to a train. Ooops!

Walking 45:00 [3]

Casual then increasingly vigorous yard work. Even broke my shovel.

2 PM

Biking 1:21:12 [3] 12.54 mi (9.3 mph) +287m
shoes: Jamis Dragon Sport 29er

Tested my rear tubeless conversion w/ Shane. Nice ride, got passed by some peeps while chatting once, you may know them as BCB, JB, and BNM, also out for a ride.

No issues, other than one small root drop landing felt squirrely, but maybe that was just because I normally run 55 psi instead of today's 30 ish psi.

Seems to still have air anyway, so I think I'll do the front tomorrow and then test it at Maybury later this week and maybe bring it to Yankee or not.....

Walking 1:16:53 [3] 2.33 mi (33:00 / mi) +45m 31:08 / mi

Our friends hired movers, so the least I could do was tend their lawn as they aren't sure when their service starts and it was somewhat hay-like in spots.

Note

Quick Yankee ad was doing jack all, so I spent 15 minutes figuring out the yet-another-different-ad interface and trying a different approach.
6 AM

Biking 1:09:02 intensity: (40 @0) + (58:33 @1) + (9:49 @2) 15.87 mi (13.8 mph) +11m
ahr:124 max:149 slept:6.5 shoes: Long Haul Trucker

Kevin noted that there might be "some rain", I checked the map and saw 1500 miles worth of green on the radar. Whoops.

But it was dry to start.
Drips at 1/4 mark
Light sprinkle at 1/2
Quality sprinkle by 2/3

I don't think my water resistant jacket resists water anymore.

It's pouring now, so I'm sort of glad for the early meeting.

I had hoped for a speed run but no oomph at all.

Note

I wish I was more confrontational. Popped by a bike shop at lunch, saw sale tags on some 29er full suspensions, asked, "so what is that sale in like percent off?" "Oh, that's the price, the tags are just misprinted with msrp, that's really the sale price."

I did not ask why the price on the mfg's website was identical to their sale price. Perhaps there's a significant ambiance markup that was then discounted.
4 PM

Biking 1:05:13 intensity: (28 @0) + (57:01 @1) + (7:44 @2) 15.78 mi (14.5 mph) +126m
ahr:124 max:148 shoes: Long Haul Trucker

Swinging commute: I drove in today to the non-standard office for our "mini offsite" all day thing, then popped over to my office to park my car and bike home.

Tomorrow, I will race in and try to make the recently announced 8 am start, which will be tight as I usually eat more like 7, and it's ~an hour in, plus shower, plus venue change.
