Portage practice with BNM and Shane. I think we are now better than WT 2018, phew.

Super fun farsta. Great route choice to the forked #1 quickly had me solo for a bit as the only people taking my initial trail had the other fork. Figured out Sydney had the other 2nd fork. Most errors and bobbles confined to the vegetation maze on the north end, lots of oops thicketed out and such, although I didn't think I was doing too bad since I woke up a bunch of flags. Igor surprised me with "currently second" and forgave me for accidentally trying to steal his water bottle. Biggest error was probably my round 2 #13, just overshot it, which definitely locked in Richard's edge after he passed me when I tried jumping in too early at lap 2 #12 and hit a wall of veg. Given his speed, that's not too shabby!

Tied some tape for Fisher long practice. I did them as a loop, whereas they will zig zag three times the distance, hopefully it’s fun. Conditions are tougher than nitro I think.

This is the summer of retiring shoes. I love my inov8s but some of them separate the upper from the toe area faster than ideal.

Hopefully I remember to shuffle one circle over a depression where the original draft was comically greener than the two leading to it!

Further checking the recent tubeless refreshening - added no air since setup, still rolled fine. I should squeeze in some single track, time permitting. Shortened because I'm too slow in the morning and a road was unexpectedly closed so tightened it up. Upside: I discovered some nice typical gravel rollers not far from the house, and a few more spots for flags if I ever get around to checking for permission to do a sprint at daughter's high school complex.

Note

I was recently inspired to be curious, so I got a nine volt for the old fish scale and hoisted my XL-size bike up.

Switched to mtb to get comfy with it before the two big races. With moderately heavy pack (laptop mostly, also work clothes). I really need to lift the nose of the seat up a notch or two.

Almost my own private road with Hines closed for half of the ride, although no longer flooded so I imagine opening soon.

Time is not even bad if you consider I hit the button then waited for a lull in traffic, so a couple minutes behind by the first light.
