Running race (Snowshoe) 1:01:00 [5] 10.0 km (6:06 / km)
Craigleith Switchback Snowshoe race.
It was a warm day for a snowshoe race but it was nice to have the sun out. The race start and right away, I was redlining as there was about 1 m of flat before starting the CLIMB. The climbing was tough but I eventually settled in and was tired but feeling OK at the top. I had tried to stay with the 2 guys in front of me but they got a gap; I had hoped to catch them later but no such luck. There were a few more small but steep climbs on the Bruce before turning around to come back. I was looking forward to running on even ground but because of the warm weather, it made for very soft, uneven snow. Finally, I got to the downhill which was a lot of fun to run down but I still need to push it as Tim and James were right on my heals.
It was a great race and good to race with friends!
