Sunday Jan 7

Orienteering 1:18:11 [2]
putting out last minute control, control checking, and control retrieval after the Lake Elmo Adv Run and O meet....had a decent turnout with 50 Adventure Runners and 30 or so O meet participants....everyone seemed to have a good time socializing in the warmth after the event......

Saturday Jan 6

Orienteering 1:41:45 [3]
ahr:122
putting out flags for Lake Elmo Adv Run and O meet with Kari...we had a good time and moved along pretty well...Jerritt took half the course and we checked those flags also...

Thursday Jan 4

Orienteering 1:04:15 [3] ***
ahr:144 weight:169.6lbs
I called it Orienteering but I ran with Jerritt as he located 7 controls at Elmo..(you missed noting two Jerritt)....had to reset the course to keep people off of the lakes....funny that Jerritt's 2 is an "upper 3" for me....I shut my watch off before our futile attempt to find a mapped ruin but could have easily included it......
C • did you look at the map at all ? 4

Wednesday Jan 3

Orienteering 3:29:03 [2]
ahr:122 weight:171.4lbs
setting the Lake Elmo Adv Run course....some back and forth, control picking and taping slowed me down...

Tuesday Jan 2

xc classic skiing 1:09:08 [2]
ahr:114
skied easy at French Park with Kari...it was great out....no tracks but the skiing wasnt bad...

Monday Jan 1

Run 35:01 [3]
run in fresh snow with Kari in Poplar Wi., Duluth has no snow....brisk and clear blue skies...a little exercise before heading back to the cities...
Note
ended the year with 372 training hours...averaged 7.16 hours/week...I have never calculated it before but I assumed I averaged 7 hours/week so my assumptions were very close....this marks my 23rd consecutive year of aerobic training and my 22nd year of multisport training, averaging about 7 hours/week...if I am proud of anything I am proud of my consistency...that amount/week works for me for my goals and well being....more of the same for 2007 although I recently am considering dropping down to shorter ski race distances....after skiing appx 3/4 ski marathons each year I find my desire to train long on ski's is waning.....I love to ski but 1:30 to 2 hour training sessions are all I am motivated to do...I will probably ski 20 Birkies (I think I have skied 16/17?) and then ski the half marathon distances from then on...
