trail running 1:18:09 [3]

yeah, I was going to do Lake Elmo but running in the steady rain constantly struggling with water droplets on the sport bifocals and map case chased me away.....my knee is also very sore and running the lumpy fields on Lake Elmo was also a consideration....I went out later in the sun shine and did an easy jog to the bog and back on trails....being careful with the knee which is causing me more concern....

Run 43:04 [3]
ahr:136

eased over to LOI....did 3 minutes on / 2 minutes off around the lake hitting low 160's on the last interval with recovery near/under 130's....24:47 on the LOI split....eased back home......

Mt Bike 49:14 [3]
ahr:128 weight:173.2lbs

out and back on the greenway on the mt bike....got caught up in a peleton of "real" bikers on road bikes and got a bit of speedwork in....I dont think they appreciated my squeaky bottom bracket that chirped the entire time....

Pole Hiking 1:16:24 [1]
ahr:109

21 lb pack........did Brownie and over to the bog.....

figured out my knee pain is due to the hiking with a heavy pack....my knee hurt again as soon as I threw it on....went out and hiked anyway trying to be careful not to strain unnecessarily.....iced it when I got home and its MUCH better this morning...good sign....

109 HR average...mild hike, took it easy but easily over 100 avg and aerobic....

it just goes to show that I need to be thoughtful with my hiking with pack workouts and monitor my knee...especially close to our trip and event...

Run 57:18 [3]
ahr:129 weight:173.6lbs (injured)

right knee has been sore the last week or two...trying to work around it...not sure what happen but its a balance to prep for the hills for the England event and keep from causing a problem...its very stiff and sore when I first get up but it gets better with movement....

sooo, despite it all I headed out sore knee and all for some hill repeats in Kenwood park....run over and did 10 repeats that took :45 up (hitting 150's on the HR for the back end intervals) and 1:10 or so to walk down to do it again....funny, doing this stuff use to make me feel stronger but that feeling of building is not really present these days...but I figure if I dont do speed or hill work its only going to get worser... : )

I had a hard time when I was younger wondering why people were big on running on soft surfaces but the last two few years have enlightened me....running feels very jarring these days when I am on the roads...
