My knee has settled in I believe.'s a 1-3 for pain typically which is manageable...the good news is that it's a dullish pain that does not spike on impact so I can run pretty feels tight and I assume a lot of the pain is arthritis. I do seem to walk with a slight limp.
My current plan is to be thoughtful with each run workout and plan cortisone shots ....I hope to wait until next April to get another one and space them out once a year in the spring before ramping run training
In many ways I enjoy trying to operate within limitations to get the most output...this is permanent so this is one of my current challenges. And the there are many like me ...pretty typical for many runners

Run 30:00 [3]

From the "you can always squeeze a workout in and make it count" department, I ran from our St Louis hotel towards the arch..and returned...

4 minutes low tempo pace/1 minute walk recovery.....

Running downtown iis a great way to tour and see any city

trail running 54:01 [3]
ahr:132 max:161

objective: trail run to mimic ski intensities...farlek hill workout. With Kari. Got some 150's and 160's on the hills.....

I did feel a bit tentative with the knee...this is the new normal...and that limited my ability to blast some harder efforts. Also I had a few twinges of pain in my right Achilles to I had to back off and plan my foot placement which made it difficult to keep up some intense efforts on the hills....iced it for 5 minutes as a preventative measure as I got home...edit note from the next day, no Achilles pain, so it worked...
