xc classic skiing 1:08:11 [3]
ahr:133

today I achieved 32 years straight of an hour a day (356 hours) of aerobic exercise (>100 bpm HRA) .....

What would we do without our artificial snow trails?.....try to scratch out a work out in sketchy conditions. Insted , Kari and I get in some tempo pace 25k race pace loops at hyland in good conditions. Amazing they can break up the ice where the natural snow areas are marginal......

Run 1:13:26 [3]
ahr:139

Running inside at US bank stadium with Kari...... .45 mile/lap

objective: lower tempo pace work...solid workout despite my unimpressive speed...I am not going to give up on it, I will keep working at it....

19:20 1.8 miles (135 HRA)

4:07 walk recovery (114 HR)

18:57 1.8 miles (144 HRA)

3:38 walk recovery (121 HRA)

18:30 1.8 miles (149 HRA)

8:49 walk cool down (117 HRA)

Run 55:00 [3]

the trails are iced up at the moment so I decided to sharp intervals at Snap would help my run and ski.....

start with run test

15:00 at 12:00/mile 110 HRA....(got low reading for the first 4 minutes...not sure this is accurate....)

and then 7 x at 8:20 pace (:07 faster than last time) w/ 3.0....131 HRA for entire 28:00 segment....hitting 155 HR on the end of the last intervals...

felt good....actually felt like I could go faster and was not hanging on.....

Hike 6:20 [3]

Run 15:01 [3]
ahr:112

The weather outside is more than frightful...but inside the Snap is delightful..

looks like XC skiing will be off the table for a bit...maybe longer but I got in a good recovery workout when its miserable outside...thought about some intervals but I have done more than enough in that arena this week so opted for a run test and some recovery

15:00 at 12:00/mile 112 HRA...either this was not accurate or I am progressing on the run fitness front....likely a bit of both.

Hyland!

they managed to turn what would be icy conditions into some great fast skiing. Family ski for 2 hours but I only counted the loops I broke off and skied on my own....

Sydney skied good on her new skis....she loves the downhills

did 2 loops of 18:30 or so at 15K race pace.....appx 150 HRA....solid speed work.

We got lucky and hit it just right.....right after an extended drizzle, Kari and I decided to go to Hyland and ski anyway, wonderinng if it would be worth it

...the rain turned to snow as we left the house and by the time we got to Hyland the snow on the track helped to mitigate the slightly icy track and provide a bit of kick.....

Kari's first time out and she did well and she should be fine for our first event at the 15K Sisu ski fest.....

alot of tempo paced effort at 30K race pace
