Note
my surgeon after surgery: "your knees are older than you are...a lot of wear and tear" he talked about taking out the torn part and telling me I still have a full ring of a meniscus BUT there is a "crack" on one side and its thin....."you will be able to swim and bike....I can't say you will be able to run".........That took a few seconds to sink in....
as I sit here this afternoon after surgery just hours ago my operated knee feels almost pain free.....perhaps its some anesthesia or something, I have taken no pain killers, I dont need them. If I dont have pain....or even if I do and its tolerable, I can limit my miles and get a few more miles the next few years before I call it a day on my running career....
My first priority is to reach 300 triathlon/tri-multisport finishes in my career. I can get there on very limited miles. I have 283 now.....17 to go. I will likely take 4 years of triathlons to get there......
I suspect I will have to limit my running to avoid getting to place where pain will not allow it, and keep me from this goal...x-rays show my gap is good. If I do anything well its getting good output on minimum input when it comes to running.
....and if worse comes to worse....and I will only run in triathlons to reach this goal or even worse than that...speed walk the run leg.
