Triathlon Bike 16:56 [3]

Tried to test my tri bike and my knee to see if it was possible to do a triathlon tomorrow I had signed up for months ago.......found out I have a slow leak in one of my race wheel tubulars and I tried to run off the bike and made it :30 seconds before the pain in my knee was to much....my neighbor said it looked painful......triathlon off.

still a bit jet lagged and recovering from sunday mountain race so probably for the best.

Mt Bike 43:11 [3]

ride around lakes....

Note
weight:172.8lbs

I lost 4 lbs during our Europe trip......walking all day many days and the hiking we did along with eating when we could took some lbs off....

With my lower weight I wish my knee was better and I could test my run speed but it still hurts...

this knee recovery has been tough....I know I have been ding to much to soon but I wasn't going to let it keep me from doing some of the epic hikes and the event we had planned for this vacation......I really nailed my knee with my vacation activity.........but due to circumstances....no regrets.

Hike 3:34:00 [3]
ahr:163

Grossglockner Berglauf....

Glad I did it...even if I had to limp run/hike the whole way......the pain of the vertical gain kept my mind off knee.....

I gave this alll I had to get to the top as I was bringing up the rear of the field. They dont get many "fun runners" is these events in Austria.....I was going back and forth with a guy from South Africa and a couple from Norway.....

12.7K....1497 meters of climb.....900 meters of climb in the last kilometer.

I was done at the end.....163 or so HRA for 3:34 puts this in the area of one of my toughest Birkie efforts....

unforgettable.......likely will not have the "right stuff" to get this high this fast in the future....

Hike 58:04 [3]
ahr:117

pre and post race walk to the car and warm down....
