Event: Stars W.A.R.

XC Skiing ! 2:45:38 [2] 12.99 km (12:45 / km)

Stars War race: !!!
It was so sunny and beautifull! with sparkly snow. and some random wind gusts that would make large chunks of snow fall suddenly on us from the trees above...

Because of technical issues (things happen) this part did not feel like a race to me, i never opened up but decided to enjoy the fantastic day and try funny things like cut right through large untamed sections, dragging WandAR out into untapped trails, considering the difficulty she was having with the skiis and that she walk a lot of the way, we did pretty well,...

She was much faster than i once we hit any real skating paths for her.
I did not realise that one could of planned a "skating" style path to pick up the controls,... oh well... next time i will try and integrate the "trail style" into route decision...
this was my first ski-O after all.

navigation was pretty clean, although I am not to clear about what makes the best route choices for ski-Os and would love to discuss that with someone in the know.

Loved the off trail parts!!! hihihi

Snowshoeing 1:29:54 [3] 7.08 km (12:42 / km)

The snowshoe part was awsome!! WandAR and I were finally racing and on the go.
LOVED the off rOAD!! FLUFFY stuff! the downhills, just jump off and slide!

I never felt really collapsing tired, except for the first 15 min where I wondered how long I could keep running with these things on my feet.
My hips felt like they were pulling, and my body was a bit shocked, but I mostly think it is the long boring flats ... I don't do to well on those. :)

Things picked up from there. Navigation wise it was pretty easy considering we were the last ones out trampling along,...
A few times, found myself following tracks but decided to go my own way which i think was better.
I caught 2 or 3 mistakes, (bad trails) pretty early (say 10 to 30m in), and correcting them only took a cut through to the next trail over.
So pretty happy about that.

It was awsome seeing Aggosst out there,... next year I think we should go head to head! :)
hahahahahaha
Wondering how the others did. JPaul team seem to have had fun but suffered some blunders, and because we came back so late, we did not get to hear the stories of the other finishers.

I was so proud that we actually went out and completed the course (even if over timed by 30min).
Awesome day! To be repeated. Loved having pizza half way through the "race" hihihihihi
and happy people skipping about.
