| 6 km test run. 24.03 Quite bad time.
| ||
| Note | ||
| I find it very difficult to motivate me to do these hard test runs. I was hesitating for hours and already decided to something more easy, but finally maanget to do it. But I guess I didn't push as hard as I could, because there was no goal and I was running alone. Am I the only one?
How about AP test run? For exampe 5-8 km, first tuesday of each month. Times would be posted somewhere with link to gpedometer route. Posting test run results would motivate to run these runs and also to pracise to get better times. Also you'd know you are kind of not running alone, because you'd know there is other people doining the same thing elsewhwrw. What do you think?

| Orienteering race 39:30 [4] 6 km (6:35 / km) | ||
| Halikko relay, 5th leg. Race is a lot like 25 manna, but onlu with 15 runners and 3 runners running same time instead of 4.
My route I ran again last leg with several runners. I started as the middle man and came first to exhange. Our third man about came 30 sec after me (started 3 min after me) and our first man came last, 2 min after me. I was aware of the fact I was a bit ahead of our other runners, so at the last did not have to push too much. I had a lot of problems with asthma during first 2 kilometers, but felt like it wasn't so bad at the second half. Maybe I just did not push as hard - who knows. Antti 'Pipo' Harju was 6 minutes faster. One min/km, I can live with it. Nice race, perfec terain, exellent map. Really good way to end this season. This was the last race planned for 2006 (I will not run any official foot O races 2006 after this event, maybe some inoffical races).
Friday Oct 13 | ||
| Note | ||
| A bunch of email has gone to Sweden and back to get this SI issue cleared. There is a lot of nice people there (especially if we remember I haven't been as nice as I should...), I hope they will be able to figure it out. The wheels are now turning in Sweden. There is no much I can do more than just wait and see.

| Planned to have about one hour run, but remembered there was a serie called "OC" at Finnish TV, so decided to go back home and see what it really is. OC, could it be anything elsethan "Orienteering Club"? I was hoping Hollywood studios had finally understood how exiting all this is. Maybe something fictional about orienteering, BAOC / LAOC events as background.
What a dissappoinment! Orange County? Such a boring characters drinking too much alcohol and making all kind of stupid things. I don't need to watch a seria like that, I can see enough of that every time I travel by boat back from Swedish O events. Plus there is always the extra exitement of trying to find out why each team was disqualified and was there this time any lucky teams who got all their SI sticks working. It Hollywood studios could only add this exiting SI issue to the OC show, I actually might begin wacthing it regularly. Seth and Ryan running at a BAOC meet, Sandy home laughing at their mistakes at RouteGadget, Summer fogetting Tecnu and getting angry to someone for forgetting to mention there is poison oak. Ah, that would make a lot better show, no-one could resist it.
Sunday Oct 8 | ||
| Running 1:02:00 [2] | ||
Saturday Oct 7 | ||
| Event: 25-manna | ||
| Running warm up/down 30:00 [1] | ||
| Orienteering race 30:45 [4] 4.7 km (6:33 / km) | ||
| 4.7 km, 7. leg, last starter of our 4 men group. I started 6 min behind our second last man, so I believed I'll not be able to see my team mates out there. But just before spectaror control I saw our the second last man, he had problems with his leg. The rest of our course was same, so we ran together - there was no need for me to push any longer. I would have run about one minute faster on my own (my time was now few seconds under 31 min, time to start triangle is missing from winsplits).
25 manna was yet an other Swedish disaster relay for us. Too much trouble and time loss with epunch systems, like always. It is quite unfair, some teams lose 15 min or more, just because the whole system just does not work.

| 25-manna tomorrow. 1992 was 25-manna at the same place and I ran last leg. I didn't I ran well, but my speed was under 6 min/km. Let's see how it goes this time... | ||
