More head lamp stuff:

(1)
- get one of these:
http://www.led-tech.de/de/High-Power-LEDs-Cree/CRE...
50 eur
- attach it somehow to a head band of an old head lamp.
- get a new 12V 4000...5000 mah nimh battery + 40eur (or for use two old 6V batteries, no need to buy a new charger +0eur)
- some wires and stuff, maybe some lenses ~10 eur

... so one might get 45 W halogen eqvivalent head lamp for 50...100 euros.

(2) More waterproof and less do-it-yourself lamp:
http://www.nightlightning.co.nz/endurenz%20details...
about same amount of light the one above. A bit more expensive, but still a lot cheaper than a Lupine light. I guess yo'll get a nice 45 W halogen eqvivalent night O lamp for ~ 200 eur

Note
(rest day)
Day 1. of the season 2007-2008. Yesterday's race was the last race of the season. I start this season by having a rest day, I feel like my back needs some rest. But I declare myself recovered from the cold.
