Paris to Ancaster Mtn Bike Race

Cycling race (Mtn Biking) 2:26:15 [4] 60.0 km (2:26 / km)

Went fast and hard this year on a dry course. Felt good for most of it. The beginning actually felt easy riding in the wind tunnel created by the riders on the rail trail. As always the last climb is the 'insult to injury' portion of the race.

Hope everyone is OK from the car accident that happened near the highway crossing...and that the accident had nothing to do with the race but it looks like somebody tried to pull a blind U-turn to get out of the traffic caused by the race crossing the highway and got T-boned.

Run (Road) 26:00 [2] 5.0 km (5:12 / km)

Aaron the task master took us out for a half hour run to 'loosen the legs' after the bike race. It took me the first 10 minutes to get my legs to stop trying to peddle.

Weights (Leg Power) 24:38 [5]
ahr:134 max:166

It was a tough mental battle but I managed to force myself to keep up my leg power workout - despite pushing hard today in the P2A race. Actually felt pretty good. Getting my old strength back.
- Squats / Stair steps
- Core Supersets

Run (Road/Trail) 2:14:16 [3] 22.5 km (5:58 / km)

Ran half the distance on the road and then took to the trails in the park. Felt pretty good though first long run with a fully loaded (10lb) pack.
Lower back was tired by the end - especially given I put off my Thursday weights to Friday.

Run 27:38 [2] 4.8 km (5:45 / km)

Easy recovery run around the neighbourhood

Paddling (Indoor) 1:27:14 [3]

Paddling pool technique and sets. It seems the more I practice this the harder it gets. Supposed to be a good thing telling me I am getting more water on the blade.

Swimming (Pool laps) 58:39 [3] 2.0 km (29:20 / km)

My first swim in ages. I think the first time I've ever gone to a pool just to swim laps. My goggles leaked and I had to empty them every 50m and they still drove me nust. The pool was crowded also but I managed to get a decent swim in.
