Road Bike hills 50:00 [4] 14.0 mi (3:34 / mi)

Rode hills along River Rd near campus. The wind was really gusting. On the final lap heading north on RIver Rd I noticed I was going 25mph UP the hill by the Red Cross Building.

Paddling 1:00:00 [1]

Took the canoe (Tuktu) to Lake Nokomis and paddled with Jerritt and Jasper. It was a great day for picnic on the beach and a quick swim.Jasper is quick learner- I think he has the basics of the "J" and "C" strokes down. Not bad for a 2 year old.

Adventure Race 8:32:00 [3] 55.0 mi (9:19 / mi)
23c

Chippewa Valley Adventure Race fun course. Started with an urban run to the canoes for a trip down the CHippewa River with 4 controls in this section. Tuktu the Alumatub proved to be a good teammate. We took out near a RICKETY ski jump which served as the rapell site. Very cool view from the top of the jump. After ditching the harnesses we jumped on the bikes for road section to the orienteering section. The score went well- we missed a couple of the controls and spent some time on them. Jerritt's stomach seemed to disagree with choice of food and he spent a quarter of a mile dry heaving on the bike. I was appreciative of the fact that he kept pedaling and didn't stop. Things seemed to take a turn for the worse when Jerritt's quads and hamstrings joined the revolt by cramping. I felt a bit useless and nervous about his ability to contiue as he was rolling around gravel on the side of the road.
We continued onto the single track (with a few more cramp breaks) and completed the "Needle in the Haystack" Activity in 3 hours, We found the first 4 of 6 randomly place unmarked controls. The final 2 nearly did us in. We finally found #6 on the LAST trail and rode into the finish.
