Saturday Apr 29

Orienteering 1:24:00 [3] *** 5 km (16:48 / km)
spiked:4/8c
Green course at Afton. I felt pretty good about my course on 5/8 controls. I can't wait to complete a course and have made only a few mistakes that cost a minute or two each instead of 8-10 minutes for each mistake.
C • Afton Green 2

Friday Apr 28

Orienteering 56:00 [4] 6.4 km (8:45 / km)
Adventure run #3 Jerritt navigated, I kept up.

Tuesday Apr 25

Road Bike 59:00 [2] 15.2 mi (3:53 / mi)
Post Road ride with Cathy and Susan. Slight route change- instead of riding path through Fort Snelling along the river we stayed on top along MN55 took a right at the bottom of the steep hill and continued to Post Rd.
Just as I reached top speed coming down the hill from Post Rd. a young deer stepped onto the road. Fortunately he made a good deer decision and bounded into the marsh.

Sunday Apr 23

Orienteering 1:25:00 [3] *** 4 km (21:15 / km)
spiked:9/11c
Sand Dunes Omeet. I ran first while Jerritt stayed with Jasper. Relying on compass bearings, I went straight to the first 9 controls and was feeling pretty confident. Of course # 10 did me in. I bumbled around for close to 20 minutes. I started to reattack once I confirmed my location but ran out of time and headed back to make sure Jerritt had time to run. It was a bummer to end with a DNF since I was having fun and doing pretty well for a the majority of the course.
Orienteering (White Course) 45:00 [1] *** 1.6 km (28:07 / km)
7c
White course with Jasper. I am happy to report I DID successfuly complete the white course!

Saturday Apr 22

Orienteering 45:00 [1] *** 2 km (22:30 / km)
spiked:2/2c
Lead navigator for Team Johnston on the Bug-O at the Arboreteum.

Friday Apr 21

Orienteering ((Just keeping up)) 46:00 [5] 5 km (9:12 / km)
Adventure Run #2 at Terrace Oaks. First event for Team Left at Albuquerque. It was a fun run. We were able to lose some of the "runner types" by cutting through the woods which was a nice way to finish up.
Orienteering 35:00 [1] 2 km (17:30 / km)
Control Retrieval. Was putzing along and didn't realize how late it was until it was almost too dark to read the map.

Tuesday Apr 18

Mtn Bike 1:01:00 [2] 13.0 mi (4:41 / mi)
Rode with J and J over the Ford Bridge then split off and and went down through Hidden Falls and Fort Snelling then home. I wanted to do a little pre ride before meeting Cathy later.
Road Bike 1:05:00 [2] 15.0 mi (4:20 / mi)
Post Road Ride with Cathy.

Friday Apr 14

Trail Run 1:52:00 [3] 8.2 mi (13:39 / mi)
Weldon Springs Decided to do the 8 mile loop instead of my usual 5 mile loop. I jogged for 5 miles and was beat by heat (80 degrees) and many bluffs along the river. I wogged (walked/jogged) the last 3 miles.

Thursday Apr 13

Run 38:00 [3] 3.8 mi (10:00 / mi)
Busch Wildlife area in STL. Ran around the nature trails twice then headed out to pond 6 where the fishing party was taking place.
TEmps were in the high 70's and humidity was definately higher than it has been at home.

Tuesday Apr 11

Mtn Bike 55:00 [3] 15.0 mi (3:40 / mi)
Post Rd and back with Dori and Cathy on their snazzy new road bikes.

Monday Apr 10

Run 25:00 [4] 2.75 mi (9:05 / mi)
Ran with the jogger to fetch Jasper from daycare. Took a little longer route down River Rd. to Dowling and cut over. The wind kept me working pretty hard hence the rating of 4 for intensity.
Run 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
Return trip with Jasper on the short route. Going with the wind was considerably easier. Jasper stayed in jogger all the way to 32nd Ave thanks to the Scooby snacks and cheez-its.

Saturday Apr 8

Mtn Bike 1:00:00 [2] 10.0 mi (6:00 / mi)
Mtn bike pulling Jasper in Chariot to Mattox Park in St. Paul. Took the long way home (via Ford instead of Lake) guessing he would fall asleep on the way home. It was a goof guess, he was sound asleep by the time we got down to the river.
Orienteering 1:07:00 [3] *** 3 km (22:20 / km)
spiked:4/9c
Night O at Lebanon Hills. The orienteering was fun. The woods were alive with Owls, yipping coyotes, other random large swooping birds and a couple very unfortunate screaming bunnies.
I successfully found BOTH of the dummy controls Ian set so I'm not sure if I should record 9 total controls or 11 controls.
Spent nearly 18 minutes on control 7- pretty much gave up after that.
It was a very fun night.

Wednesday Apr 5

Mtn Bike 1:19:00 [3] 20.0 mi (3:56 / mi)
Mtn. Bike on Road to Post Rd and back to Pike Island quick jog around Pike Island. Saw an eagle swoop down on the river and grab a fish. Jumped back on the bike and went to top of Post Rd hill and home.
Trail Run 29:00 [3] 3.0 mi (9:39 / mi)
Pike Island. Nice trail skipped the part of the trail that was closed due to high water.
Mtn Bike warm up/down 15:00 [1] 2.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
I didn't want to get home right as JDAWG was going to bed and disrupt the routine.

Monday Apr 3

Run 1:01:30 [4] 7.0 mi (8:47 / mi)
I love day light savings time! Ford Lake Loop. Beautiful night for a run.
Walking warm up/down 15:00 [1] 1 km (15:00 / km)
Cool down walk with Flink, Jasper and Jerritt.

Sunday Apr 2

Other (Erg) 26:30 [4] 6 km (4:25 / km)
6K Erg while Jerritt and Jasper checked the MAC equipment for practice this week. I was fairly consistent with a littel speed up to finish each 1k.
I think I should try and get down to the boathouse at least once a week.
C • Are you still sick? 5
Other warm up/down (Erg) 15:00 [2] 1 km (15:00 / km)
Pilates 25:00 [3]

Saturday Apr 1

Trail Run 51:00 [4] 5 km (10:12 / km)
Trail run at OO on the Birkie Trail. It was really tough running. The trail was still covered in snow/ice/puddles (no bare patches).
Talked to one guy skiing back and forth for 1km where the trail was skiable.
