swim 30:00 [3] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)

Back to work today. Swam before work which was very pleasant.

12 months ago Leith and I were in Tassie at this time. L remembered this, sad that we were not there now.

Sunday Jan 3, 2016 #

run 1:36:00 [3] 16.0 km (6:00 / km)

A pleasant run with a big sociable group from Bridgewater to Mt Lofty summit and back. There was fog at the summit and even the occasio drop of water which was a novelty.

stretching 10:00 [3]

Stretching while stopping on the run, particularly while at the summit gates as no dogs were allowed on the summit.

run 57:00 [3] 9.5 mi (6:00 / mi)

Yay a cooler day. With both dogs. Up valley up Saddle hill rd back down QJD. Sun has plenty of bite.

Kayak 15:00 [3]

Much calmer conditions this morning. Water was so clear! Was so lovely. Hard to leave to pack up for the ferry.

run 30:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Very hot even at 8.30 am. From the campsite at sea level up up up the hill to the west turning around after 2 km. I hadn't taken this road and previous trips so saw some new to me views. Easy to see over to yorke peninsula on this clear morning. Also a birds eye view of the lovely old stone farmhouse in the valley - setting looked like out of a story.
Bit over running in the hot though.

swim 30:00 [3]

2 swims, time a guesstimate. With snorkel. One in Western River Cove another at Second Valley on the way home. Water much clearer in KI. In water considerably longer but spent time just floating about looking at fish. Pretty good activity for a 40 C day!

run 43:00 [3] 7.3 km (5:53 / km)

Bit further along Antechamber Bay today. Includes some rock hopping. Tide was higher so lots of soft sand today which was hard work. Much hotter so swim at the end was a relief.

Then we packed up to head to Western River Cove via Dudley winery for coffee and Penneshaw for supplies.

swim 15:00 [3]

At Western River Cove. In water for a lot longer but this is guessing the active swimming time. This normally calm and sheltered cove had swell today because of the strong northerlies. A capsized when trying to beach her kayak.

Quite busy with other holiday makers today.

Kayak 10:00 [3]

Short paddle on the kayak around the cove.

run 32:00 [3] 6.21 km (5:09 / km)

Run along Antechamber bay. Tried to go a bit faster being on the flat but I'm really out of practice. So nice to be there. Decided it's my all time favourite beach. Anne joined me for some of run which was ended in a highly satisfactory manner by a swim in the sea.

Kayak 10:00 [3]

In Chapman river. Last section on returning from the closed Chapman river wines.

Instead on our return we drove to the beautifully situated Cape Willoughby cafe. Great food and coffee and very friendly service, not minding we looked like river rats!

swim 20:00 [2]

I decided visiting Chapman river winery, not far from our campsite was a good idea. Travel mode was to be swim and kayak. We only had 1 kayak between us so I elected to swim up Chapman river. This was very pleasant. We walked the last bit, only to find it closed on Tuesdays and Wednesday's!.
Still the journey was fun, so we turned around and reversed the process.
