Up to Upper Sturt cfs via boundary track to check the PO box, back via valley. It felt warm and I was very sweaty. Callum felt the hot too.

run 32:00 [3] 5.5 km (5:49 / km)

Following a walk around the forest joining Lauren, Fern and Mia , the boys and I ran to Hawthorndene oval then home via Minnow creek and Upper Sturt rd. The mild conditions were in stark contrast to recent runs and I was hot and slow.

Note

Felt like I was brewing a sore throat over last few days so enjoyed a sleep in this morning and feel like I slept it off.

run 28:30 [3] 5.0 km (5:42 / km)

Morning run around north Burra. Conditions still windy with squalls but not quite as strong winds as yesterday.
After that we packed up and visited the recently renovated Burra railway station, Gaslight, then Mintairo maze. This was fun. The first time I took ages to get to the centre, kept getting stuck - felt like I was orienteering! Leith assured me he was waiting 5-10 minutes in the centre. Second attempt I timed us and we took a minute and 30 seconds- but we now knew the route. I would love to try a really big maze one day.

run 33:30 [3] 6.06 km (5:32 / km)

Run around north Burra with Callum where Leith and I are staying tonight. Very windy and cold. There had been bright sunshine for sometime before I headed out but shortly after starting a driving rain started. It was very cold and the rain was so hard it was almost painful. Going up the last longish slope I was surprised and pleased by how good I felt until I realise do the gale was now behind me pushing me along. Quite fun!

Note

Watched The Castle with Leith. He was amazed that this is where the 'He's dreaming' phrase came from.

Sunday Oct 2, 2016 #

walk 2:20:00 [1] 9.0 km (15:33 / km)

Heysen trail from near Hamilton to Marshall's hut near Peters hill with the family ( minus Tarn). Scenery was awesome. So green, awesome wild flowers. Callum was allowed to come and he loved it.
On route to Burra to pick up my repaired car.

run 37:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:10 / km)

Run back to get car while others walked on. Dropped part way by my cousin James (70 plus years) after some ( in my opinion) mad 4 w driving cross country on his part across his paddocks!

Made it back to pick up the others just in time before the rain set in!
