Conditions a bit choppy but improved as the evening deepened . Most of this time was kneeling, some standing.

Manu's Australia Day training. The map was shaped like the map of Australia ( I didn't notice until someone pointed it out). There were questions at controls about the cities which corresponded to the control site ( or rather the control sites corresponded to Australian cities locations on the Australian shaped map.) Quite fun. After doing much less running over the last couple of weeks my legs somehow felt very tired and sore. How does that work?! I was a bit slow answering question and had trouble finding one control place low.

Open water swim with my friend Brad and his swim group from Hove SLSC to Brighton Jetty. B thought this was 1.6 km but my garmin disagreed. It was a beautiful morning and the water was clear and a comfortable temperature. I saw two small stingrays! I found it hard to keep going parallel to the beach, I had to keep checking on position. Haven't done an open water swim for a long time and it was hard work but enjoyable. Great way to start the day before work. My arms are tired now.

Went to the trouble of carefully packing my day pack with work clothes, food etc and putting my bike in the back of the car and parking at Blackwood with car and yoga mat thereby ready for after work Pilates. Got bike out, put back pack on, locked car , went to get on bike to cycle to work - something didn't feel right - darn it I left my helmet at home! Not enough time to drive back so put bike back in and drove to work. Frustrating!
So had a lunchtime swim to help compensate. Lanes set at 50 m today and had one to myself. Very pleasant.

Run with Bear up to Karka pavilion and back. Felt very sweaty.

Group run to Mylor and back via bandicoot trail. I love that trail but feel I am quite slow on the twisty single track. Despite starting an hour earlier it was still v warm. This continued hot weather has caught up with me - when I arrived home I promptly fell asleep for 2 + hours!
