run (Long) 2:04:00 [3] 20.0 km (6:12 / km)

My 'long loop' with Callum and Bear- through Belair to pony ridge drive, down to Brownhill creek road, stop for the dogs to drink at the ford then up up up Tilleys hill road, the fire track, charlick rd to Crafers then Sheoak road and back through Belair. Felt pretty good apart from sore feet. The boys held up well. We had a couple of stops to share a muesli bar. Had an emu come out of its way down a track to investigate me so I looped round through the bush to avoid him/ her. I am getting a bit emu phobic lately - they don't seem to move away like they used to!

run 29:00 [3] 4.92 km (5:54 / km)

Pewsey vale run with Callum while B and S were putting out controls for the camp champs. A balmy 7C when we arrived. Had been 2 C at the camp at Ironbank.

orienteering 1:11:00 [3] 5.09 km (13:57 / km)

Senior girls course. Dnf'd - didn't find 8 I'm sure I must've just missed the corflute control - it all made sense apart from not finding the control! Even when back to the mapped fence to try again and got to same place. Decided I'd spent too long and I'd better head back - didn't spot 9 among the cliffs then ran back without getting 10 or 11.

Bridget and Simon pulled off another fabulous camp which challenged the more experienced and also engaged some much newer orienteers - quite a feat! We are lucky to have them.

Pleased that L started to find his running legs again after a couple of months being unwell. He had a great time . Was great to have 4 days outside too, in lovely locations.

orienteering (Relay) 20:00 [3] 2.7 km (7:24 / km)

Junior camp day 4. Relays teamed with Kate in lovely Lucky Pit. I did the moderate course. All good apart from finding a pit in a broad gully. Passed right by the control ( flat on the ground before finding it, doh.) Ran with Callum which was the best fun, although his excited barks were a moving attack point for those behind us! Found myself having to run against zippy junior boys. Made me work harder.

orienteering (Shadowing ) 1:17:00 [1] 5.6 km (13:45 / km)

Bearing exercise at Bundy forest. Such a nice group of kids!

orienteering (Training ) 2:15:00 [1] 6.1 km (22:08 / km)

Junior training camp day 3. Pewsey Vale - it was 6 C and rainy when we arrived this morning with mist and low visibility. Though it remained cold the rain stopped. Most of this time was walking a linear course with Leith. This had been set by Simon. It required sustained focus to stay on the line to find the controls. I enjoyed this and felt I was reading the mapped rocks ok.
Then I did the first 16 controls of a short leg course. Some were quite hard. I tried to keep jogging steadily but I did quite a bit of slow scrambling too.

Not very much distance but I am surprisingly tired now! My back is a bit sore today - driving a lot and missing last nights Pilates?

orienteering (Various activities ) 2:00:00 [3] 11.72 km (10:14 / km)

Various activities on Bridget's and Simon's Junior camp.
Finding various bits of crepe paper on Christmas hill map with Callum .

Shadowing Jniors on a moderate course .
Night o on Shiloh hills park map at Ironbank where I seemed to have taken a v conservative approach. Lots of interesting features, very steep and slippery in places.

Fun day out in beautiful settings.
