orienteering 29:28 [3]

Sprint series race 2 Adelaide University. Long course. Course by Ethan. This was fun and I didn’t really make any mistakes just some hesitations and possibly a couple of suboptimal route choices. Reading the map a little better for this I think. With my current seemingly chronic injuries I don’t seem to have a top gear either and I’m pretty slow on stairs. Nearly 2 minutes behind Jenny but she is always much smoother with nav. Just ahead ( by a few seconds) of a bunch of youngsters who are somehow now veterans. I don’t expect this will happen very often.

run 58:56 [3] 9.47 km (6:13 / km)

Belair run up to the redwoods with new coach Wakaru on a hot evening.
I am an old crock - my ankle felt sore at the start and right glute felt sore for the last few kms.

swim 30:54 [3] 1.5 km (20:36 / km)

Lunch swim. I probably need to do more swimming and less running at the moment.

orienteering 25:00 [3]

Wednesday night training at Hawthorndene with Wataru. Sprint training intervals. Evalin’s last night before flying back to the US. It was sad to say goodbye.

I didn’t warm up and I tripped in a hole hurting my sore glute again, which was annoying so I jogged round very slowly. Otherwise it would’ve been fun to do try ‘head to head’ racing.

cycle 1:40:00 [1] 36.0 km (2:47 / km)

Ebike commute.

Pilates 55:00 [1]

Woke up with a very sore ankle which stayed sore all day. I think every time my ankle starts to feel better I overdo it and the bursitis flares again.

run 30:00 [4] 5.77 km (5:12 / km)

I didn’t do the full warm up as I ran late -the traffic was horrible and I had to park a long way away. Session was 12 x 300, each 300 was 100 x 10 km pace, 100 x 1500 pace and 100 sprint.
My legs were sore from the sprint series and my glute protested a bit. I love these sessions but don’t manage that well if my legs are tired from Sunday - I seem to need more recovery time!

orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Evalin’s sprint camp day 2. Knock out sprint around Stirling, 4 separate races plus warm ups. This was a very fun day. My last race was my best, quite flowy and no brain freezes which was a pleasant change - helps I know the area and it was our second race on this side. At the front of the field there was some fast and furious racing which was fun to witness!
