Hour's worth in fine weather over to Somerford Common. Hit in face at speed just below left eye by insect, right on top of cheekbone, felt like a small bullet! Got the thing off, but clearly it had done some damage. It swelled up a little and got numb - ice pack when I got home but pain not really receding although no further swelling. Have to wait and see. Running fine - good pace and legs felt strong - effect of cycling? Will do a lot more from now on to replace longer runs - knee feels much better!

Round FoD ride with DP/AP/TN/TG/Sally and me. Really good fun, some very testing climbs - 30+ miles and a great workout without being wiped out. Will know training effect over course of next 14 days....(in Scotland)

Low key race in NWO series at Knap Hill on Ridgeway. New map fast with big ups and downs. No mistakes except overrun on last control - mistake through tiredness/lack of concentration. Good fun. Fitness improving. 12 day to go to Scottish.

MTB steady and pushed up hills, no stops, around long route north of B'wrth, returning up School HIll.
