Running (warm up) 10:00 [1] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Running (cross-country race) 35:00 [5] 5.0 mi (7:00 / mi)

My first cross-country race in over 10 years. I think somewhere in amongst the pain I enjoyed it. I can't say I enjoyed being 173rd. With my injury problems and the training schedule I'm doing to try to fix them, it's not surprising that I found it so tough. But it still hurts to run so poorly. I had to make sure I smiled a few times when I saw friends otherwise I'd really have wondered why I'm doing this. I take my hat off to all those who struggle, give it their all and never get anywhere near the front. I admire your spirit and enthusiasm. But I guess that's what running's all about. Just giving it your best and achieving your own personal goals. And right now my goal is to do everything I can to change the shape and condition of my body so that I can stay injury free and enjoy my running. Which is what I've done this week. So I'm happy.
