classic ski (Highlands) 5:00:00 [3] 48.0 km (6:15 / km)
Cold crisp clear morning - at -20!! Gorgeous sky. Met up with the speedy ladies Susie S. , Connie O, Sue U., and Martha W. - all good skiers who love classic and it was a classic, classic day. Blue wax for sure:)
Sue has only one speed and it's way too fast for me, but the other ladies can keep up - for a while. She was killing me but luckily she never glide waxes so I was able to catch up on the downhills as my skis were way faster. Also, luckily for the rest of us Sue only ever skis for 1 1/2 hours, pretty much to the minute, so we were able to go at a much more sane pace once Sue left.
After almost 3 hours the others had to leave, but I stayed out in the sunshine and warmer conditions - my skis were great. I needed more food and my water bottle froze so I need to figure that out before the marathon but otherwise I felt good and my wax was great and held up. (k18 base binder, VR40, with VR30 on top)
