Pops took his final breath just before 3:00 this morning, peacefully, holding Susie's hand. Goose and I did a wee paddle in his honour at Ken Whillans before going to Inglewood for the "leaving ceremony" at Bethell Hospice. Picked some water lilies to send on the stretcher as it left. The staff and family gathered for a short simple ceremony to say goodbye and one of the nurses's brought a paddle for Pops to take with him. I guess you get to know the staff when you stay for 3 months and get better, get kicked out and then come back.
