hiking (Kolapore) 2:00:00 [3] 7.0 km (17:09 / km)

Clear, crisp morning - but not frosty. The coffee served on the deck warmed us up followed by breakfast. I'm liking this glamping at Bash's and Bent's and their hospitality:)
The four of us, plus the 2 dogs then headed out on a trail through their property, onto crown land for a bit of bushwhacking to get to the Bruce Trail and glorious vistas aflame with fall colours. We followed the Bruce to Metcalfe Rock and oohed and aahed at the lookouts there from the escarpment - spectacular! Then we hiked on some of the Kolapore trails -along with lots of other hikers. We ended up at the UofT cabin where 4 people were working on repairs. So of course Bent wanted to chat and see their work since he was the cabin manager back in the day. The 4 who were there were delighted to show him and we had a nice little chat before heading back out on the trail, bushwhacking again back to the Bruce and back to the house. With no dog issues!. Lunch was lovely on the sunshine on the deck.
Great visit - thanks to Bash and Bent for hosting us! Also, I'm thankful for living where I do, and being able to get out and see the beauty of the season with friends who love it too. I know I'm lucky and I am truly grateful

After a whirlwind of house cleaning and some food prep, there was just enough time for a quick ride. It was too nice an afternoon not to get out again.
Up Duffy's, across Castlederg to Mt. Hope and home. Beautiful.
