canoeing (Humber) 3:00:00 [3] 7.5 km (24:00 / km)
Another bright beautiful morning. Nicola Ross had arranged to go down the Humber with Goose as research for another book. She said she was bringing a photographer who would just take a few photos from the Duffy's bridge and then leave them to their downriver trip. The photographer turned out to be Fred Webster so I talked him into just going down the river with me in another canoe and getting some other photos. It didn't take much arm twisting. It was a very slow trip as neither Nicola nor Fred was really interested in paddling a lot they were more interested in the scenery - which was gorgeous with the fall colours still vibrant - and getting some pictures. There were a lot of photo ops, and a few canoe-drags around log jams. Wonderful weather and place to be on such a fine day. Portaged from the Duffy's Lane trail access parking lot and paddled from there to our house.
